Magnetic hooks are the most widely adopted easy solution to hand various objects. Hooks are curved projections designed to retain an object. Conventionally, hooks were drilled into the walls for firm support which may leave holes in walls. Magnetic hooks can replace the traditionally used hooks because of magnetic strength instead of fixing in a hole. A magnetic hook is made of a stud-type mounting magnet. A mounting or pot-magnet is a neodymium magnet wrapped in a small steel pot. It is also manufactured with a stud on its top that may help in the attachment. Some stud pot magnets have spiral threading at the internal surface of the stud. These threading can provide a firm binding area for hooks. A hook having compatible threading rings can be fitted into the stud of the magnet. Precautions:

Certain points should be considered while using magnetic hooks:

l Neodymium magnets are attracted toward ferromagnetic metals, but some metal surfaces such as stainless steel or a particular type do not allow a magnet's attachment to it.

l A wrecked or rusty surface cannot hold a magnet efficiently. Therefore, it is advised to attach the magnet to a rust-free intact metal surface.
